RIVERSIDE, Calif. – CBU women's soccer returns home Wednesday night to host Utah Valley in a Big West matchup before traveling to Northridge to face CSUN on Saturday night.
The Lancers (6-2-3, 1-2-2) are coming off their second loss of the season, falling 1-0 at Long Beach State last Saturday. CBU will look to get back on track this week as the Lancers have gone three consecutive matches without scoring. However, the defensive unit has remained strong, allowing just one goal over that span.
CBU's defense has been a major strength throughout the season, allowing just three goals overall, the fewest in the Big West and the nation. The Lancers rank second nationally with a 0.273 goals-against average, trailing only Auburn.
On Wednesday, CBU returns home, where it has been particularly successful this season. The Lancers have not lost at home since last season's matchup against Utah Valley on Oct. 18. Since that defeat, CBU has gone seven matches unbeaten at home, recording five wins and two draws while outscoring its opponents 13-1.
Since CBU Soccer Stadium opened in 2022, the Lancers have compiled a 28-7-9 record at home. They will face a challenging Utah Valley squad that sits near the top of the Big West standings and remains unbeaten in conference play.
