Series History
CBU leads the all-time series 2-1, with its most recent victory coming last season in a 1-0 nonconference win in Riverside during the season opener. Jessica Ramirez scored her first career goal at CBU in her debut, finding the back of the net within the opening five minutes.
CBU Team Analysis
CBU enters Saturday's matchup with momentum after ending its five-game scoring drought in Wednesday's 4-0 win over UC Irvine. Sophomore forward Kandace Koerth and freshman Jaelynn Hillenbrand each scored their first career goals at CBU, bringing the Lancers' scoring depth to nine different players who have found the back of the net this season. Jestrovic, King and freshman Maya Yoshimura are the only players with multiple goals.
While the Lancers' offense broke through on Wednesday, their defense has remained a strength throughout the season. CBU recorded its 11th shutout of the season, tying for the national lead with two other programs. The Lancers also lead the nation in team shutout percentage at 78.6%.
CBU is tied with Auburn for the fewest goals allowed nationally, with both teams having conceded just four goals this season. The Lancers lead the Big West in that category by nine goals, with Cal Poly ranking second with 13 goals allowed.
The combination of a resurgent offense and one of the nation's top defensive units will be key as the Lancers continue their push for a Big West postseason berth.
Scouting the Roadrunners
CSU Bakersfield enters Saturday's matchup following a 3-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday. The Roadrunners have scored nine goals while allowing 35 this season.
Under interim head coach Martin Navarro Jr., Bakersfield features a largely revamped roster, with seven returning players and 23 newcomers.
