RIVERSIDE – The Lancers square off in a pivotal Big West showdown on Saturday against Cal State Fullerton in Fullerton in the final regular-season game of the year.
CBU comes into the game having won three straight to improve to 4-3-3 in Big West play and 9-4-3 overall. The team moved into fourth place in the Big West standings following its win at Sacramento State on Wednesday. The result also helped the Lancers' postseason positioning, as Long Beach State, Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara all suffered losses.
Saturday's matchup features the second-place Titans, who have clinched a Big West postseason berth with a 7-1-2 conference record and a 10-3-5 overall mark. Fullerton will be playing for a share of the Big West regular-season title if it defeats CBU and Utah Valley loses.
All Big West postseason seeding remains up for grabs heading into the final day of the regular season, making Saturday's matchup especially important for the Lancers.

Series History
This will be the first regular-season matchup between the two teams. The Lancers did face the Titans in an exhibition game this past August in Riverside.
CBU Team Analysis
The Lancers have now scored two or more goals in each of their last three games while allowing just three goals during that span. The increase in offensive production has come at an important time as CBU heads toward the postseason. Senior midfielder Jessica Ramirez has scored twice in the last two games after not scoring since the 2025 home opener. Senior Anja Jestrovic also recorded a brace at Sacramento State on Wednesday, while senior forward Alyse Then added her second goal of the season.
CBU recently moved up to sixth in the Big West in goals per game at 1.375, improving from eighth. Junior forward Nikki Mau has also moved into the top 20 in the conference in shots per game at 1.81, while Jestrovic ranks in the top 10 in both assists (six) and goals (five).
Graduate goalkeeper Mikayla O'Brien continued to shine at Sacramento State, making several key saves to help keep the Lancers in front, including a first-half penalty kick save. Graduate defender Taylor Held has also continued to anchor the defensive effort.
O'Brien continues to lead the conference in goals-against average (0.55) and save percentage (.891). She also ranks third in shutouts with six.
The Lancers will look to continue relying on their veteran seniors as they close out the regular season on Saturday.
Scouting the Titans
Cal State Fullerton is led offensively by Cassie Villanueva, who has recorded seven goals and 10 assists this season, while Camryn Cruz has added five goals. The Titans have scored 38 goals while averaging 15.6 shots per game, with multiple players contributing to their attack. In goal, Allison Craycroft has recorded 77 saves and seven shutouts. CBU will look to limit Fullerton's offensive opportunities and stay organized defensively against a team that creates chances from multiple areas of the field.
