THIS YEAR: After spending the fall season with Western Kentucky, Jami Escalante will fight for time in the circle and will get some relief appearances.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at El Segundo (Calif.) High where she played four years of varsity softball, graduating in 2007 ... Selected All-CIF first team as a senior, leading her team to the Division V finals ... Was a two-time All-Pioneer League first team and a Daily Breeze All-Area selection ... Notched a 1.03 ERA as a senior and hit .326 ... Recorded a 0.98 ERA as a junior and hit .346 ... Named All-CIF Division V second team as a junior ... Was an All-Pioneer League second team selection as a sophomore.
OTHER: Born May 13, 1989 to Mark and Pam Escalante ... Majoring in communications ... Plans to go to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising after graduation and eventually own her own business ... Has one brother and one sister ... Enjoys playing softball, snowboarding and fashion.
