CBU won the opener 5-1 and then dropped the late game 6-2 to move to 6-2 on the team's 10-game Hawaiian road trip.
The Lancers took the opener behind Jessica Avila's third straight complete game. Avila allowed just one run while throwing all seven innings. The freshman has thrown 19 innings over the last two days, giving up just three runs.
Rachel Meyer helped power the Lancers offensively, turning a tight 2-1 ball game in the seventh inning into a 4-1 Lancer lead with a two-run shot.
CBU scored its first two runs on an error by the Silverswords in the opening frame.
Avila moved to 9-4 with the win.
With Avila out in the second game the Silverswords would find their offense, taking an early 4-0 lead through the first two innings.
Sloan McHann would double in a pair of runs in the sixth, but it wasn't enough as the Lancers fell 6-2.
Kayla Hatch would take the loss to fall to 1-4. Belinda Renne threw the final 4.1 innings of the game, giving up just two hits and no runs, but CBU's offense never got on track for the comeback.
Marshean August went 3 for 5 at the plate in the doubleheader and McHann and Meyer each had two RBI to lead the Lancers.
The split moves CBU to 14-9 overall, 8-6 PacWest and moves Chaminade to 5-9, 2-4.
