AZUSA, Calif. – For the second year in a row, California Baptist University won a four-game series over Azusa Pacific, this time when its PacWest-rival Cougars were the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
The No. 21 Lancers won the final three games of the series and swept Saturday's doubleheader on scores of 13-2 and 7-2 at the Cougar Baseball Complex. CBU outscored the Cougars 33-6 over the final three games this week to improve to 28-14, 21-11 in conference and move APU to 34-6, 24-6.
CBU will then take a weekend off before ending its home season with four games versus Academy of Art Tuesday, May 1 through Thursday, May 3.
