"I thought the team performed well and were prepared to play," said head coach Kristen St. Clair. "Every positional line played very well today. We generated some excellent scoring opportunities and earned the shutout. We'll enjoy this win tonight, and now turn our focus to preparations for UVU."
The Lancers cruised to a 3-0 win over the Cougars to extend their winning streak to seven games and their point streak to eight in their seventh shutout. Amy Aquino led CBU with two goals, while Rola Badawiya scored her fifth-straight game-winner, and her goal streak to five games.
It keeps CBU alone in first place in the WAC standings with nine points on a 10-2-1 overall and 3-0 in conference record. Seattle U picked up a 2-0 win over CSU Bakersfield to move into sole possession of second place in the WAC seven points and 2-0-1 league record 6-6-2 overall. Chicago State drops to 0-13, 0-2.⚽️ LANCERS WIN ⚽️

CBU's momentum was never in danger of being slowed down on Thursday, despite having to relocate to UC Irvine's Crawford Field last minute due to inclement weather in the afternoon.
The Lancers dominated in every offensive category, with a 33-4 advantage in shots, including 15 shots on goal. They also created 13 corners and allowed just one.
CBU goalie Romy Salvador was not forced to make a save in the shutout, In fact, Chicago State rarely had possession across midfield.
The scoring started less than a minute for the second time in conference play off a set-piece. The Lancers quickly earned a corner kick, and Valerie Cortez sent the ball over Chicago State's defense. It found Badawiya unmarked at the other end. The goalie had no chance, as the junior scored her eighth goal of the year and tallied a point for the sixth-straight game.

Goal number two came in the 10th minute. Rebecca Romero created the opportunity, coming up with a steal right front and center of Chicago State's 18-yard box. She played a quick touch to Aquino to put her in a one-on-one chance with the goalie, and she did not miss.

Aquino scored her second goal 13 minutes into the second half, as she made a run and took a perfect pass from Karley Weeks before slotting it into the far post.
"We want to get our mind right, rest our bodies, and keep doing what we are doing," said Aquino. "Our team was all-in tonight. From the bench to the players on the field, we had great energy from start to finish."59' | G⚽️⚽️⚽️AL‼️Amy Aquino beats the keeper on the far post! Karley Weeks was in on the assist!
