Coach Baber has been at the helm since the summer of 2011, posting a 301-110 (.732) overall record. Under his direction, CBU made five-straight NCAA Division II postseason runs and won three PacWest Conference Championships. The Lancers won the NCCAA national title in 2012.
The Lancers showed power at the plate with six home runs tonight, marking the first time that CBU hit three homers in back-to-back games this season. Entering the doubleheader, CBU had hit three dingers in a single game only three times this year. The Lancers are now 5-0 in those contests.
In tonight's opener, the Lancer offense exploded for five runs in the first inning. A leadoff double by Brittany Galvez led to a two-run homer by Caitlyn Lloyd to put the Lancers up. Mackenzie Budinger reached base on an error and Cheyann Tucker walked to put two on base and set up a two-out, three-run shot by Shelby Arbeiter.

Utah Valley was held to just one hit through the first three innings. The Wolverines ended the shutout bid in the top of the fourth with a leadoff home run by Lyndsay Steverson. UVU would score a pair of runs in the inning to make it 6-2.
In the bottom half of the fourth inning, a double by Budinger and walk by Tucker set the table for Arbeiter once again. Arbeiter smashed her second three-run homer of the game to extend the Lancer lead to 9-2.
UVU cut into the lead in the top of the fifth, making it 9-4 with a two-run homer by Basia Query. The Wolverines added two more runs in the seventh as the Lancers held on for the 9-6 victory. She did it again‼️

The Wolverines evened the score in the third inning with a two-run dinger by Abby Doughty. In the bottom half of the fourth, the Lancers looked to have regained the lead as Arbeiter launched a ball down the left field line that was caught at the wall by UVU's Brianna Moeller.I think we have seen this already today. 😉#LanceUp pic.twitter.com/G9Bi6GWPuD
