CBU Battles Wolf Pack in the Final Game of the Series

The Wolf Pack came away with a 13-10 victory in the final game of the three-game series, as the Lancers move to a 3-4 overall record. California Baptist was able to get on the board in the fourth inning and applied pressure to the Wolf Pack's defense in the latter half of the game, but the Wolf Pack responded with several more runs to win the rubber match.
Nevada secured a 9-0 lead by the third inning, which CBU responded well to by notching three runs during the fourth inning. While Nevada continued to steadily add to their lead, the Lancers continued to respond, including a five-run inning in the fifth. The Wolf Pack secured the win by three after allowing one hit from the Lancers in the ninth inning.
The Lancers tallied 11 hits during the game, led by Cole Howarth, who collected three hits and six RBI in the batter's box. Mitchel Simon and Howarth put two doubles in the books during their time on the field. Jake Skipworth and Jake Brown also showed out with a homerun a piece, earning them an RBI and two RBI, respectively.
CBU baseball heads to Tucson next to face off against the University of Arizona in a single game at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28th.
