Jestrovic Leads Lancers to Victory on Sunday

ST. GEORGE, CA--- The California Baptist women's soccer program ended their weeklong road trip in Utah with a perfect record after defeating Utah Tech 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. A pair of goals from Anya Jestrović would ultimately be the game decider for the Lancers and improve CBU's Western Athletic Conference record to 4-1.
After scoring just 12 minutes into the match, CBU never relented offensively and fired off six shots throughout the first 45 minutes to test the UTU keeper. Defensively, the Lancers were pristine and allowed just two shots from the home team. Jestrovic would shine again just eight minutes into the second half with a beautiful goal from a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, bending the ball behind the Trailblazer wall.
CBU's backline limited Utah Tech to just five shots all game, with two on frame. From the other side of field, the Lancers fired 10 shots with six on frame for the victory.
The Lancers will now turn their attention to next Saturday as they welcome to Utah Valley to Riverside for the second half of WAC play.
