GAME ONE
The Lions took an early lead, building a 2-0 advantage in the top of the first, and added to it with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings. LMU would plate three more in the top of the seventh to reach the final score of 7-0. LMU racked up a season-high 13 hits in the opening contest, topping its previous season-high of 12 which was set against UC Riverside on February 28.
CBU starting pitcher Kerisa Viramontes went six innings, allowing 10 of those Lion hits and four earned runs with four strikeouts. Freshman Alyssa Argomaniz came in to close out the game in the top of the seventh but not before allowing three runs on three hits. Viramontes gets tagged for the loss, dropping her season record to 8-6.
GAME TWO
The nightcap saw a more balanced, yet very familiar, game as the Lions again jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after three innings. They added another run in the top of the sixth and might have added more had it not been for the defensive play of the night from Abby Robertson to end that frame.

The Lancers had their best opportunity in the bottom of the sixth, placing runners on first and second with no outs and their 3-4-5 hitters in waiting. At that time, the Lions reverted back to game one winner Marina Vitalich, who retired those three CBU batters in order.
Gretchen Goldsmith went the full seven innings in the circle for California Baptist in game two, allowing just three runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts. Her record falls to 3-2 on the season, while the Lions' Alessandra Samperio improves to 3-4 and Vitalich earns her team-leading third save of the season.
