RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University softball returns home this week for a doubleheader against San Diego State at John C. Funk Stadium on Friday before closing out the three-game series in San Diego with a single game at SDSU Softball Stadium.
The Lancers will look to get back to their winning ways after a five-game stint at the Stanford Invitational resulted in a 1-4 weekend record and a 5-10 overall record. All four of those loses came at the hands of Pac-12 foes in the Cal Golden Bears and the host Stanford Cardinal.
CBU and the Aztecs have played just two games in their all-time series so far, with each winning at home. Last season, the Lancers took the extra-inning victory against SDSU 1-0 in the eighth inning after an RBI single brought home Molly Kolander in the bottom of the eighth.

Stats: StatBroadcast -- Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3
San Diego State enters the series with a 6-3 record on the heels of a three-game series against fifth-ranked Washington. The Aztecs shutout the Huskies in game two, 4-0.
Though SDSU has only dropped three games, the Aztecs have been outscored 25-1 and have been held to just five hits total in their losses. If the Lancer pitching staff can get it going early, they would have a decent chance against this Aztec team that comes in with a .241 team batting average to minimal damage.
