The Lancers' season record moves 15-12 with two more games to go this weekend. Harvard would split the day, having defeated UND in the opening game of the tournament, while the Fighting Hawks bad run continues, having scored just four runs during their now 10-game losing streak.
GAME ONE
The first game of the day for CBU started as an intense battle between the pitchers. Neither hurler allowed a hit in the first three innings, with CBU's Jazmine Castaneda retiring the side in order in the first, second and third. The deadlock was broken in the top o the fourth when the Crimson led off the frame with a home run to left field.
CBU would answer in the bottom of the fifth inning after methodically loading the bases on a pair of Crimson errors and a free pass earned by Tiana Patrick. Nicole Stark would enter the batter's box with the bases loaded and two outs, seizing the moment and knocking an RBI single that would clear the bases, giving CBU a 3-1 lead late in the contest.

Harvard never quit, putting two runners on with one out in the top of the seventh, eventually scoring one of them. Enter Alyssa Argomaniz, who came in with two outs and shut the door on the Crimson rally, earning her third save of the season in the process.
Castaneda secured her seventh win of the year, the most on the team and tied for second most in the conference. She gave up just two earned runs in 6.1 innings on Friday night, while striking out three. Argomaniz's third save of the season sets her on top of the Western Athletic Conference standings in the category and tied for fifth-most in a single season in program history.
GAME TWO
The Lancers wasted no time putting crooked numbers on the scoreboard against the Fighting Hawks. In the bottom of the second, CBU opened with an Amanda Argomaniz single, who was then pinch run for by Michaila Harrington. She proceeded to immediately steal second and reach third on a wild pitch, putting her just 60 feet away with no outs. Maile Olsen then singled through the left side, scoring Harrington easily and getting CBU the lead it would grow and never relinquish.

A sacrifice bunt and a pinch-hit walk from Patrick would load the bases for Mia Alvarez who worked just her second walk of the season for a free RBI and a two-run Lancer lead.
North Dakota would plate a run in the top of the fourth on a two-out RBI single up the middle. CBU would immediately answer with three runs on one swing from none other than Nicole Stark. Two of Stark's three hits on the night brought across six Lancer runs, capped by a glorious 1-0 double to left center to score Raegan Cheyne, Kenzie Yamakoshi and Deja Westbrook.

Katelyn Mangrello would add a loud insurance run in the bottom of the fifth on a first-pitch home run to left field. Though it's the first of fer season so far, more are sure to come as Mangrello led the team in homers a season ago.
