Pitching was at the forefront of CBU's first game, a 4-3 victory over Oregon State in eight innings. Miranda De Nava earned the start and lasted 4.1 innings before Brandon Telesco turned to his bullpen. Oregon State got to De Nava in the first inning with a solo home run and then tacked on two more in the fifth to end her day early.
De Nava allowed six hits and struck out three.
Emily Darwin was the one called on to keep CBU in the game. Darwin answered the call by throwing 3.2 shutout innings in which she allowed two hits and one walk while striking out three.
CBU's offense started early with three runs in the first. Makayla Medellin singled to left center to plate a pair, and then she scored on a Sydney Peterson double. A fourth run eventually came in the eighth inning when Kenie Farrier-Pilon became the extra innings hero with her RBI double to plate Stevie Robison.

The bottom of the eighth saw OSU put two runners in scoring position with one out, but Darwin was unfazed as she recorded a strikeout and a groundout to clinch the win.
A half-hour later, CBU was back on the diamond, this time against UC San Diego. The Tritons entered the day 10-1, but a loss to Cal to begin the day dropped UCSD down to 10-2. CBU, which began the day 8-3, now has an equal record with UCSD, as a 12-5 win puts both squads at 10-3 entering day two.
The Lancers again got the offense in motion in the first inning, this time with a five-run outburst that saw CBU send ten batters to the plate. Medellin drove in CBU's first run on an RBI single, and then the Lancers were the beneficiary of two bases-loaded hit batsmen. The final blow of the inning came on a two-run double by Berkleigh Tuck.
CBU posted another crooked number in the second inning thanks to Ashlee Annett's two-run home run and Brooklyn Bassett's RBI single. An RBI from Farrier-Pilon and a two-run double from Ella Bakholdin in the third kept the scoring outburst alive as CBU posted multiple runs in the first three innings.

The final run crossed home in the fifth when Medellin singled to center. Medellin went 3-for-4 in game two, ending the day with four hits and four RBI. Farrier-Pilon also racked up four hits on the day.
Madalyn Martin was the winning pitcher in game two, her second win of the season. Martin held the Tritons to one run on three hits in her five innings of relief work. Annika Hollingsworth got the start and lasted two innings in her first outing since tossing a perfect game on Tuesday.
The Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic continues Friday from Cathedral City, as the Lancers take the field two more times. The day begins with CBU playing Seattle at 10 a.m. and then resumes at 12:30 p.m. against Fresno State.
All games this weekend will be streamed on FloCollege.
