RIVERSIDE, Calif. — No. 17-ranked California Baptist University woke up Monday morning eager to find out where it would be headed for its fourth-straight NCAA postseason appearance and who it drew.
The Lancers picked up the No. 7 seed and face No. 2 seed Humboldt State in Northern California at third-seeded and sub-regional host Chico State. The Wildcats will take on Cal State San Bernardino in the four-team, double-elimination tournament that begins Thursday. CBU and the Lumberjacks are slated for a noon start time on Thursday.
On the other side of the West Region, Cal State Monterey Bay drew the top seed and will host the four remaining teams in the region: No. 8 Western Washington, No. 5 Sonoma State and No. 4 Dixie State.
The winners of the two sub-regionals will then meet up next week at a location still to be decided and battle it out for the West Regional Championship and a ticket to Salem, Va., for the Division II Championship.
