The Titans, who are the favorite in the Big West Conference, broke through in the fourth and fifth innings to take the contest on a score of 9-5. CBU's record falls to 4-6 ahead of a big road trip that will pit the Lancers against Santa Clara, Cal, and Stanford in Palo Alto, while the Titans are within reach of .500 now at 6-7 on the season, though six of those seven loses have come to teams in the NCAA rankings.
Makayla Jordan got the ball rolling in the bottom of the first with a single to bring in Ashley McBay, who doubled aboard, but the Titans would quickly answer back with a pair of their own in top of the second. The bottom half of the frame saw Tiana Patrick launch her first homer as a Lancer.

Following a third inning that saw only Abby Robertson reach base on a walk, the Titan bats came alive, as they scored three runs on four hits in the top of the fourth, and three runs on three hits in the top of the fifth, opening up a seven-run lead. CBU would load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth and would manage to plate three runs before recording the third out, but a ground out and a double play in the bottom of the seventh would quickly end the rally attempt for the Lancers.
Jordan (2-4, RBI) and Patrick (2-3, run, RBI) recorded multi-hit games for the Lancers on Wednesday night, while McBay joined Patrick in scoring both a run and an RBI in the game. The Titans' 11 total hits would prove to be the difference in the game as both teams each made one error, left seven runners on base and worked six walks.

Both teams used four pitchers as both of the starters were knocked out early, leaving it to their immediate replacements to pick up the win and loss for the day. Viramontes managed just 1.2 innings in her start, allowing two runs on two hits, but her four walks would prove costly. Giana Lopez got tagged with her third loss of the season after allowing four earned runs on five hits in two innings in the circle before Alyssa Argomaniz and Gretchen Goldsmith finished out the game for the Lancers.
CBU now heads north to the Stanford Invitational and is slated to play Santa Clara on Friday before facing off with Cal and Stanford twice each on Saturday and Sunday.
