CBU improves to 23-20 and 6-6 in Western Athletic Conference play to sit alone in third place in the West Division. Dixie falls to 13-24 on the year and 3-9 in the WAC, currently residing in sixth place in the division.
Soto and Deja Westbrook each recorded a pair of hits on the night, combining for three runs batted in. Katelyn Mangrello also drove in a pair of runs, extended team-leading RBI count to 26.
Alyssa Argomaniz got the start in the circle, but left with a no-decision after four innings. Jazmine Castaneda earned her 12th win of the season after three innings of relief while allowing two earned runs on just two hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Mangrello drove in her two runs in the bottom of the first to get the Lancers on the board first. Her conference-leading 14th double of the season plated Nicole Stark and Soto. One batter later, Westbrook singled to right center, scoring pinch-runner Sanae Orm to boost the Lancer lead to three.

The Trailblazers would get one run back in the top of the second. Dixie State nearly kept the scoring run going as the next batter would double up the middle towards a charging Westbrook in center field. Westbrook one-hopped the throw from center, gunning down the would be scorer in plenty of time as freshman Mackenzie San Pedro applied the tag at home.
What's better than an outfield assist from center? An outfield assist that ends the inning!#LanceUp⚔️ pic.twitter.com/lLeF6pMpI0

The Lancers would immediately negate the run with one of their own in the bottom half of the inning as Priscilla Estrada would slap one to the opposite field, scoring Michaila Harrington from third. That would prove to be the last bit of action for a few innings until Dixie State posted four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 5-4 lead.
The Lancers would mount their comeback in the sixth inning, loading the bases via a pair of walks by Alissa Montes De Oca and Raegan Cheyne, a single from Amanda Argomaniz. Soto entered the batters box with two outs and sent the fifth pitch of the at-bat up the middle for a single, scoring pinch runners Molly Kolander and Maile Olsen to take back the lead for good.
