RIVERSIDE --- The non-conference finale of the 2026 season took place on Tuesday night, as the Lancers welcomed a future conference foe to Riverside. It was a pitcher's duel under the lights of John C. Funk Stadium, as the visiting Titans of John C. Funk Stadium grabbed the night's only runs in a 2-0 final.
Tuesday's loss moves the Lancers to 35-15, while the Titans improve their mark to 32-12.
CBU and Fullerton will share the same conference next season, the Big West, as the Lancers are set to transition from the WAC after this season. The Lancers played Big West opponents 12 times this season, finishing 10-2 in those games.
Right-hander Miranda De Nava made her 33rd appearance and 25th start of the season. De Nava, a Riverside native, tossed her 11th complete game of the year as her record moves to 14-7. The sophomore allowed two runs across six hits.
Fullerton used three pitchers to compile the shutout. Eva Hurtado earned the win, moving her to 12-4. Trisha McCleskey picked up her first save of the season.
The Lancers flirted with a big inning early, loading the bases in the top of the first inning after a pair of walks and a single from Ashlee Annett. But the rally ended with three runners left on base. Annett's single improved her on-base streak to 23 games, dating back to March 10.
Fullerton posted its first run of the night in the fourth inning, a double to left center. The Titans' second run came on a single in the sixth.
The Lancers wrapped up the night with five hits. Malachy Russell-Millen reached base twice with a single and a walk. Four of CBU's five hits came from their two through five hitters.
A trip to Texas awaits the Lancers this weekend, as the Lancers return to conference action with three games against Abilene Christian. The series begins with a doubleheader on Friday and will wrap up with a single game on Saturday. Only Saturday's game will be streamed, and fans can tune in on WAC International.
The Lancers enter the weekend with a one-game lead over Tarleton State in the WAC standings.
