Macias’ Two Homer Day Lifts CBU to a Sweep
4/25/2026 11:54:00 AM | Softball
ABILENE, TX --- Riverside native Victoria Macias produced her second two home run day of the season, as the Lancers pulled off the series sweep of Abilene Christian. The Lancers exit Texas with their first place lead still in hand, setting up for the final series of the season next week in Riverside.
The Lancers are now 13-2 in conference action thanks to Saturday's 10-0 shutout. CBU improves its overall record to 38-15.
Macias had the Wildcats' number this weekend, as she hit her second and third home runs of the series on Saturday. The Riverside native blasted a two-run shot to right field in the top of the third, part of a seven run inning. She later left the yard again with a solo blast in the fifth to push the Lancers' lead to 8-0.
Macias ended the day 2-for-3 with four RBI.
It's the second time Macias has hit multiple home runs in a game this season. She also record a two home run performance on April 3 against Utah Tech.
The seven run third inning started with a two run double down the left field line by Malachy Russell-Millen. CBU continued the third inning with a run-scoring fielders choice, and then Makayla Medellin drove in a run on a single up the middle. The Lancers' final run of the day came off Russell-Millen's second double, this one in the fifth, to drive in a pair.
Russell-Millen finished 2-for-4 on Saturday and reached base ten times over the three-game series.
In the circle was right-hander Miranda De Nava. De Nava blanked the Wildcats for the second day in a row, this time allowing three hits across five innings. De Nava struck out two, placing her two strikeouts shy of matching the CBU single-season record (DI era).
The regular season now comes down to next weekend, as the Lancers welcome Tarleton State to John C. Funk Stadium. CBU will enter the weekend with a one game lead on the Texans. The winner of next weekend's series will claim the WAC regular season championship and the top seed in the WAC Tournament.
Next weekend's series begins with a doubleheader on Friday and then wraps up with Senior Day on Saturday.
