THIS YEAR: In his final season, senior Aaron Hartsock will make the transition as a spot-starter/middle reliever to full-time starter ... Will likely start the first (9-inning) game of Saturday doubleheaders ... Has a very resilient arm with an ability to bounce back quickly, which will likely make him a candidate to close some games ... Is very physical and likes to compete ... Throws a hard curve ball and has a nice sinker.
2005: Made 21 appearances (4 starts) as a 2005 junior ... Was 3-6 with a 3.82 ERA ... Tossed 61.1 innings, allowing 31 runs (26 earned) with 59 strikeouts ... Was second on the team with 3 saves ... Threw 4 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 3 to pick up his first win of the season against Cal State San Bernardino ... Allowed just 3 hits and one earned run in a season-high 6 innings of work only to suffer a 2-1 loss to Point Loma Nazarene ... Threw a scoreless 2.1 innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while recording a strikeout in his lone NAIA Region II Playoff appearance ... Picked up saves in back-to-back scoreless outings against Grand Canyon (3 IP) and Redlands (1 IP).
OTHER SCHOOLS: Played one season each at San Diego Mesa (2003) and Imperial Valley CC (2004) ... Was 4-8 with 3.38 ERA and team-leading 3 complete games at IVC ... Earned All-Pacific Coast Conference honorable mention in 2004.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped 3 varsity seasons for head coach William Estes at Imperial (Calif.) High, graduating in 2002 ... Was All-CIF as a 2002 senior after posting 70 strikeouts in 65 innings.
