THIS YEAR: One of the top returning hurlers in the GSAC, junior Cory Allen will assume the role of staff ace ... Has good command of the zone and is a three-pitch pitcher ... Noted for his competitive nature ... Is a physical presence on the hill.
2008: Made a career-high 15 appearances, all starts ... Was 5-6 with a 3.69 ERA ... Was 10th in the GSAC in ERA and third with 83 strikeouts ... Allowed just 18 walks in 92.2 innings ... Allowed just one earned run in the first 32.2 innings of the season ... Struck out a season-high nine batters twice ... Threw 9.1 innings, scattering nine hits and allowing just one run while striking out five but got a no-decision in a 2-1, 11-inning win over No. 12 Fresno Pacific ... Gave up just two hits and two runs in 8.2 innings in a 2-1 loss at The Master’s ... Allowed just one run on six hits while striking out six in a 6-1 win over Vanguard.
2007: Sat out the 2007 season.
2006: Made 11 appearances and was second on the team with eight starts as a 2006 freshman ... Was third on the team with seven wins ... Was 7-2 with a 4.71 ERA and was second on the team with two complete games ... Tossed 49.2 innings, striking out 36 and walking just 12 ... Won his first three outings ... Allowed just seven hits and four earned runs while striking out 18 in his first 19 innings of the season ... Gave up just two earned runs and struck out five in a season-high eight innings to get a win against Westmont ... Threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 10, in a win over La Sierra ... Gave up just one hit and one earned run in seven innings against The Master’s.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped four varsity season for head coach Dan Blanchette at Corona (Calif.) High, graduating in 2005 ... Was a two-time All-Mountain View League selection, earning first team honors as a 2005 senior.
