THIS YEAR: Senior Ross Stout returns to anchor the starting rotation ... Will start in GSAC games ... Has a calming and confident presence ... Possesses 4 quality pitches (fastball, curveball, changeup and slider) ... Brings a high-level of experience, having thrown in an NCAA Division I Super Regional game as well as working a full season in the GSAC ... Gives his team a chance to win in nearly every outing.
2005: Made 14 appearances (10 starts) as a 2005 junior ... Was 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA ... Allowed just 23 earned runs and 64 hits in 69 innings of work ... Allowed just 29 walks and was fifth in the GSAC with 73 strikeouts ... Struck out a season-high 11 twice, once in 7.1 innings to pick up a win against Vanguard and again in 7 innings against Westmont ... Allowed just 4 hits and one earned run while striking out 8 in 8 innings to pick up a win over The Master’s ... Allowed 8 hits and one earned run, while striking out 5 in 8 innings in a 3-2 loss against Concordia ... Did not allow an earned run in 5.1 innings to beat Concordia 3 days earlier ... In his final start of the season, went 3 scoreless innings allowing just one hit while striking out 6 against Vanguard before leaving the game with an arm injury.
LONG BEACH STATE: Played 2 seasons for head coach Mike Weathers at NCAA Division I Long Beach State ... Did not register a decision in 2 years, pitching a combined 13 innings with a 4.50 ERA in 2003 and 3.86 ERA as a 2004 sophomore ... Made an appearance in the Super Regional vs. Arizona.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped 2 years of varsity baseball for head coach Darrol Salazar at Palm Desert (Calif.) High, graduating in 2002 ... Was a 2-time All-Desert Valley League selection as a shortstop and pitcher ... Hit .460 with 5 home runs and was 5-1 with a 2.00 ERA as a 2002 senior ... Hit .450 with 4 home runs as a 2003 junior ... Also played one season of football as the starting quarterback as a 2003 junior ... Was a high school teammate of current teammate Aaron Seuss.
